PERSUASIVE TECHNOLOGIES TO REDUCE SCREEN TIME
This project focused on understanding how screen-based technologies affect an individual's perception of mental and physical health. Excessive screen time negatively affects people in many ways which primarily include: Sleep quality, Concentration level and amount of time spent sitting. The project explored the implications for the design of a persuasive technology aimed at helping people reduce their screen time.
PROCESS

Identified the research problem and built interview protocol and script.

Interviewed users to understand the process of using screen technologies (mobile, computer, TV, smart watches, tablets etc.). Qualitative analysis of interviews to organize the data for further exploration.

Developed a survey, analyzed the results qualitatively and quantitatively to categorize the findings into three themes.

Created personas and journey maps after testing. Results and concluding statements were recorded in the final report.

ON AN AVERAGE, A USER SPENDS 2.5 HRS IN A DAY ON HIS/HER MOBILE DEVICE AND 6.25 HRS IN A DAY ON HIS/HER COMPUTER.
